Pre&Post Care Instructions
Laser Hair Removal
-
For first-time patients, LHR treatments are typically performed 4-8 weeks apart. Your specialist will determine the gap between your sessions after treatment. We do not pre-book appointments in advance without a recommendation.
Please ensure you always come in with clean skin for your procedures. And the best way to do it is to shower and not apply any makeup, creams, deodorant, lotions or other.
If you have any changes in medication or health, please notify us immediately; we may not be able to perform your treatment while you’re on certain medications or have significant changes in your health.
For patients interested in the “brazilian” area, if you are on your period, we can still perform the treatment if you’re wearing a tampon, cup, or disc, as long as you can ensure that there is no blood on the surface. Please note that during your period, you may be more sensitive to the procedure; therefore, plan accordingly if you need to reschedule to avoid the late cancellation fee.
If you’re interested in taking any painkillers before the procedure, make sure you’re not taking Advil or Ibuprofen, as these medications can increase photosensitivity in your skin, causing more irritation than needed. Accepted medications in these situations are Tylenol, Paracetamol, or painkillers from the same group.
If you choose to use topical numbing prior to the treatment, make sure to apply it at least 30-45 minutes in advance and completely remove it before you start the treatment. We do not provide prior numbing for hair removal; however, our lasers are equipped with DCD
-
Shave 24-48 hours before. All hairs, regardless of length and thickness, need to be shaved for each appointment; otherwise, we will be unable to perform the service.
No plucking, waxing, threading, or use of hair removal creams.
Avoid sun exposure and use of any tanning products for at least 2-3 weeks before treatment and use at least SPF 30 daily to ensure coverage against UVB and UVA rays.
Discontinue use of Tretinoin-type products (acne or sun-damaged skin medication like Renova, Tretinoin, Retin A, Retin A Micro, Tri-Luma, Solage, AHA/BHA exfoliants, Acids, etc.) at least 2-3 days before treatment.
Consider laser treatment (any, including hair removal) ONLY after at least 2 months since your last dose of Accutane (acne treatment).
Many sun-sensitive medications will also make you more sensitive to the laser. Please disclose any medications that you may be taking.
If you have a history of cold sores, begin prophylactic treatment with Valtrex or similar no later than the day before your laser hair treatment.
If you get injectable treatments, ensure that it has been at least 2-3 weeks since your last Botox treatment and 3-4 weeks since you’ve received fillers.
-
Redness and swelling post-treatment are expected, depending on the sensitivity of your skin; they may resolve in a couple of hours or stay on the skin for up to 2-3 days.
Some patients experience itchiness post-treatment (specifically on the lower extremities and face). Do not itch the area with your nails, as doing so can result in infection, permanent pigment changes in your skin, or even scarring. Cleanse the area and apply OTC hydrocortisone cream twice daily for 5-7 days. In addition, you can take antihistamines such as Zyrtec or Benadryl to alleviate itchiness. Those who experience itchiness after the first session are recommended to pre-medicate with their preferred antihistamine (allergy medication) 2-3 days before their subsequent treatment to avoid itchiness and irritation.
Do not sunbathe or use a tanning bed or other tanning products for at least one week following your treatment. If you need to be out in the sun, wear an SPF of at least 30-50; otherwise, hyperpigmentation may occur.
Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and pools for at least 24-48 hrs following your treatment, as your skin will be sensitive. You can take a shower; however, avoid extremely hot water, and fragrant shower gels, and use anti-bacterial soap or shower gel. No scrubs and no exfoliation for a few days after the treatment.

TREATMENT PLAN
Best results are seen with at least 5 sessions, spaced 2 weeks apart.
Maintenance sessions are recommended to sustain results — without upkeep, skin laxity may gradually return.
Treatment is not a weight-loss method but can enhance the appearance of treated areas when paired with a healthy lifestyle.
-
Arrive well-hydrated — drink plenty of water before your appointment.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
Shave treatment areas if necessary.
Avoid heavy lotions or oils on the treatment area before your session.
Avoid aspirin and anticoagulants for 48 hours before treatment, as they may increase the risk of bruising.
Avoid retinol or retinol-based skincare on the treatment area for 2–3 days before and after your session.
If you have had liposuction, you must wait at least 3 months before receiving VelaShape III to allow proper healing.
-
Mild redness, warmth, or a “tight” sensation may be present for a few hours.
Mild bruising can occasionally occur and should resolve on its own.
Stay hydrated to support skin recovery and optimal results.
Avoid retinol or retinol-based skincare on the treated area for 2–3 days after treatment.
Resume normal activities immediately — there is no downtime.
Maintain results with periodic follow-up sessions and healthy lifestyle habits.
Spider Vein Removal
-
Our laser spider vein removal treatments use the advanced Candela GentleMax Pro and Pro Plus systems to target and treat small, visible surface veins. The laser energy selectively heats the vessel, causing it to collapse and be naturally reabsorbed by the body over time. This treatment can reduce the appearance of superficial spider veins; improve skin clarity and evenness; treat facial and leg veins in eligible patients
Important Restrictions
Skin Tone: This treatment is not safe for darker skin types because the laser targets pigment. In darker skin, this increases the risk of unwanted pigmentation changes, including hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots).
Vein Size: We can only treat veins up to 2 mm in width. Larger vessels are not suitable for laser removal.
No Numbing Cream: Numbing agents cannot be used because they constrict blood vessels, making them invisible to the laser and preventing effective treatment.
Ideal For:
Small, visible spider veins on the face or body
Lighter skin types
Patients seeking a non-invasive alternative to sclerotherapy for small vessels
-
Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or self-tanner.
Avoid tanning or significant sun exposure for 2–3 weeks before treatment.
Avoid self-tanners for 3–4 weeks prior to treatment.
Discontinue retinoids, exfoliating acids, or harsh skincare on the treatment area for 5–7 days prior.
Do not use numbing creams before your appointment — they constrict blood vessels and interfere with treatment.
-
Healing time for the veins is minimum of 6-8 weeks, and can only be re-treated after.
Mild redness or swelling is normal and should subside within a few hours to days.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours post-treatment.
Protect the treated area from sun exposure for at least 2–3 weeks after treatment; always apply broad-spectrum SPF.
Avoid self-tanner for 3–4 weeks post-treatment.
Do not use retinoids, exfoliating acids, or other active skincare on the area for 3–5 days post-treatment.
Treated veins may appear darker before fading — this is normal and part of the healing process.
Multiple treatments may be required for optimal results.
